Sexual related risk factors are key in assessing risk to re-offend for those who have engaged in sexually abusive behaviors. Sexual regulation seems to remain constant over the years as a key goal in treatment as well. Sexual related risk factors are considered dynamic risk factors (DRFs). We use arousal control as the same as sexual regulations skills. This text provides introduces learning theory as the framework for utilizing deviant arousal interventions. The text provides techniques to decrease deviant arousal, techniques to increase appropriate sexual arousal, and techniques to regular or self-manage arousal for use in treatment of those who have engaged in sexually abusive behaviors.
